''Old'' pictures from Whitley Bay and Tynemouth

St. Mary`s lighthouse in Whitley bay.

The more farther up we climbed the narrower the staircase became, but we persevered and reached the top!

I think it`s OK to call it ''the lamp of the lighthouse'' (I forgot the technical term for it) :))

Tynemouth Priory and Castle ruins. It is a bit mysterious with birds cirling above it...

Chinese New Year and some more

I did my best with my point and shoot camera to capture all the colors and moods of the Chinese New Year! :)

This is the entrance to China town in Newcastle.

There were quite a few performances worth seeing: dancers, acrobats and fire-breathing people! :)

This church is very close to where i live and its very old. Well, everything seems to be old in England! :)

In my attic room!

These are some pictures from the Gosforth park. I discovered it last weekend!

YORK in February, 2007

I and Kirsten went to York on Saturday. Very nice old old town. I would like to move there some day ;)
We had so many plans regarding things we want to see, but as the saying goes: human plans, God does :))

We got stuck in the Minster of York for the most part of the day. There was a ~2 hour guided tour (for free) followed by an audio tour. When I have more time I will enter some specifics about the cathedral. One thing I can say: it`s huge and beautiful with amazing stained glass windows dating back to roman times. There are about 146 or so of these windows...

''The heart of York''. Just look a the window carefully.

The Rose window

Constantine the Great (274-337) who was proclaimed a Roman emperor in 306, establisher of Western Christendom after his own conversion to faith.

The Clifford Tower

That was the last time anybody saw ''the fat rascal''! And by that I don`t mean me, but the cookie :)) mmmmm, it was soooo good!

My new boyfriend! I`m a lucky girl...

Resting time...

Some evening pictures of York!

You can see the city wall of York. It`s pretty ancient and well preserved. There are free guided tours for tourist every day, but we did not get time for that.

That`s how a real english railway station looks.
